Truck Weight Limit Options for 2010

July 2, 2010 - 2:41pm

With harvest time upon us, new truck weight limits for 5 and 6 axle tractor-trailer units may be useful to you for loads on secondary highways, and went into effect January 1 of 2010 for permitted, divisible loads.  The new limits are the result of HB 09-1318 which passed in the 2009 Colorado legislature with the help of Representative Jerry Sonnenberg and the Colorado Corn Growers Public Policy Committee.

In addition, you may have the option of obtaining permits for up to 97,000 and 110,000 gross vehicle weights depending on axle configuration.  These permits are for secondary roads only, not interstate highways.  Permits can be purchased for single-use, six months, or annual use.
