Colorado Corn
For nearly a half century, NCGA’s National Corn Yield Contest has provided corn growers the opportunity to compete with their colleagues to grow the most corn per acre, helping feed and fuel the world. This has given participants not only the recognition they deserved, but the opportunity to learn from their peers. The Harvest Form mailing deadline is the earlier of seven days of the final check or December 1.
Winners will receive national recognition in publications such as the NCYC Corn Yield Guide, as well as cash trips or other awards from participating sponsoring seed, chemical and crop protection companies. In Tampa, FL during the 2011 Commodity Classic, state winners will be presented awards at the NCYC Breakfast and national winners will receive awards at the Awards Banquet.
For those who have accepted the challenge to compete in past NCYC, there are several important changes to contest regulations. After each contest a group of NCGA corn growers review the NCYC Rules and approve changes to make the contest entry and harvest process less complicated while maintaining integrity.
ALL PROSPECTIVE ENTRANTS SHOULD REVIEW AND BE FAMILIAR WITH IMPORTANT CHANGES TO THE RULES FOR THE 2010 CONTEST, ESPECIALLY REGARDING THE NUMBER OF SUPERVISORS REQUIRED FOR CHECKS AND RECHECKS. DETAILS ARE IN THE COVER LETTER WITH THE 2010 ENTRY FORM.
