Colorado Corn Growers Honored for Support of "Blend Your Own Ethanol" Campaign

Sioux Falls, SD (August  2010) Eleven corn grower states and the National Corn Growers Association have been honored by the American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE) with its “Paul Dana Marketing Vision Award” for their support of the national “Blend Your Own Ethanol” campaign.

The “Blend Your Own Ethanol” campaign (BYOethanol) was launched one year ago when ACE and the Renewable Fuels Association partnered to create a first-ever single source of ethanol information and technical expertise for petroleum marketers looking to upgrade their equipment and offer more ethanol choices to their customers. By serving as a central clearinghouse for renewable fuels information and infrastructure incentives, BYOethanol brings E85 and other flex-fuel blends to key areas of the country, which in turn encourages neighboring gas stations to see the benefits of those higher ethanol blends and add them  to their product mix.

The award was established in honor of the late Indy Racing League driver Paul Dana who understood the importance of developing markets for ethanol and worked tirelessly to make his vision of fueling the IRL with ethanol a reality.

The National Corn Growers Association and these state corn grower organizations were presented the award at the ACE Ethanol Conference in Kansas City, Missouri on August 4: Colorado Corn Growers Association, Corn Marketing Program of  Michigan, Illinois Corn Growers Association, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Kansas Corn Commission, Kentucky Corn Growers Association, Minnesota Corn Growers Association, Missouri Corn Growers Association, Nebraska Corn Growers Association, Ohio Corn Board, and the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council.

“Paul Dana united ethanol supporters with his vision of teaching the world about clean, all-American power of ethanol by making it the official fuel of the Indy Racing League. These corn growers have shown that same kind of vision with their support of the BYOethanol campaign and should be congratulated for bringing ethanol supporters together to promote greater availability for consumers,” said Ron Lamberty, Vice President/Market Development of the American Coalition for Ethanol (ACE).
