Colorado Corn to Co-Sponsor Debate

U.S. Rep. Marilyn Musgrave and her challenger Betsy Markey will debate in Fort Morgan at 7 p.m. Oct. 13.

The two are competing for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District. Republican Musgrave has served three terms in the seat and Markey, a Democrat, has previously worked as the Northern Colorado Regional Director for U.S. Sen. Ken Salazar.

The debates are sponsored by the Colorado Dairy Farmers, the Colorado Corn Growers, the Colorado Livestock Association, and the Rocky Mountain Farmers Union. The groups will forward the candidates several questions about a week ahead of the debates, which are open to the public.

The debate will be at Fort Morgan High School, 709 E Riverview Ave., in Fort Morgan. Lorrie Boyer with Colorado Ag News Network will moderate.

The two will debate again Oct. 21 at Windsor High School Auditorium, 1100 Main St., Windsor.
