Supporters Sign Up For Ethanol

Hundreds of supporters have been “signing up for ethanol” on a website sponsored by the South Dakota Corn Utilization Council.

The website is tied in to an advertising campaign which started running in South Dakota at the beginning of August. The campaign highlights the role of ethanol in increased energy security, economic development and decreased gas prices.

Ethanol Truth Squad Still Needed to Patrol for Inaccurate Information

When the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency turned down a request for a one-year cut in the renewable fuels standard on Aug. 7, we hoped it would silence the outspoken few who spread inaccurate and incomplete information on the issue. Unfortunately, within moments, they were out there talking their talk.

Join Colorado Corn at Farm Show 2008

Colorado Corn will have a prominent role the Irrigation Research Foundation's Farm Show 2008 in Yuma.
On Wednesday August 20th at 3:30pm Colorado Corn will be presenting a study done at IRF on roots, nitrogen and yields. For a summary of the study, click here.
At 4pm Colorado Corn is sponsoring a Farm Bill update by John Deering with CSU Extension.
Then at 5pm Vonnie Sonnenberg will present the Farm Safety Dividends Program.
And of course you will be able to stop by the Colorado Corn booth during both days of the show.

USDA Crop Progress Report Highlights Strong Corn Crop Condition

While all eyes may be on next week’s release of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s crop production report, Monday’s weekly report on crop progress offers some good news: The percentage of corn crops rated “good” or “excellent” is significantly higher for 2008 – 66 percent compared to 56 percent in 2007.
